Danny Green says the campaign to change the language surrounding the coward punch has been incredibly successful.
The champion boxer, who has been the face of the anti-violence campaign for seven years, launched the 2019 Coward Punch Week during Sunday’s State of Origin game in Perth.
He tells Ben Fordham the campaign, which encourages people to use the term coward punch instead of ‘king hit’ or ‘one punch attack’, has really cut through.
“It’s really gaining momentum. Judges and magistrates are now handing down sentences referencing the term coward punch.”
“It’s such a basic, yet powerful tool that attaches such a negative connotation to a hideous act which is acting as a deterrent.”

To Danny, I seen your new ad on A current affair tonight reguarding the coward punch I think it’s brilliant that these losers are made to pay for their consequences and it’s reduced the number of coward punches since your first ad, I think you should make an ad for all the loser men that think they’re so tuff when they hit women. I was a victim 20 year’s ago, but I was one of the lucky ones got out before I could have ended up in hospital or worse, I know of one man who I grew up with,he got in touch with me after 35 year’s and told me he hit one of his girlfriend’s with an opened hand slap, says she asked for it and there is nothing wrong with it and doesn’t apologize for it despite my thoughts against this, men like him should be shamed to the max it would be nice to see an ad to shame these mungrels cause they are even bigger cowards, would like to hear your thoughts on this
